Assurance of Learning (AoL)

Assurance of Learning (AoL) is an essential part of the College of Management’s efforts toward AACSB accreditation. Its purpose is to improve the quality of teaching and learning in the College.

How AoL Works

  1. 1

    Competencies

Based on the mission, competencies (CPs) are first defined for each degree level (such as bachelor’s and master’s programs).

  2. 2

    Direct Measures

An appropriate number of corresponding courses are then selected for each degree level. Instructors develop suitable assessment methods and use rubrics to evaluate student performance. These are referred to as direct measures.

  3. 3

    Indirect Measures

At the same time, opinion surveys are conducted with external stakeholders, such as graduates, alumni, and employers, as indirect measures.

  4. 4

    Data Analysis

Data from all courses are then compiled and analyzed.

  5. 5

    Curriculum Management

Finally, the Curriculum Committee carries out curriculum management based on the results of the direct and indirect measures.

Closing the Loop

Completing all of the above steps is called “Closing the Loop.”
